Three Sessions At Skyline

By: Jacqui M.

Editor's Note: Thanks, Jacqui, for this touching, light-hearted review of your Skyline Seminar.

There is nothing new under the sun! An all too familiar beginning for a seminar. . . Friday night, after signing in, we were outside walking toward the chapel when inmate Jonathan yelled at us from the door: "Are you going to have Bible study?"

Once again, our program hadn't been announced. Never mind, God brought just who He had selected. . . Jonathan was scheduled for release the following Tuesday. At age 21, Johnathan had been incarcerated ten years. Because he was full of fear of what adult life on the outside would bring, I started slicing at him with the Sword of the Spirit.

Bill G. ushered in the Shekinah glory during praise and worship. (I notice that Bill is experiencing physical challenges due to spiritual drunkeness. Do we need to appoint a designated driver, I wonder?)

Roger J. taught on the anointing, reiterating Scripture I had given to Jonathan. By the third session, Johnathan was full of confidence in what the Lord can do! As the message went forth, inmate Daniel would giggle, hide his face in his hand and tear up. At session three he told us it had been a year since he had come to chapel. Roger spoke directly to his heart. Sandra F. gave a heart-felt and convincing message on lifting holy hands. It is a sign of surrender to God. Hallelujah! Thanks Sandra!

Dan V. projected us back to the first passover, as he prepared us for communion. The first disciples didn't have to contend with those nifty little "to go" communion elements. The trick is getting the little biscuit separated from the lid of the grape juice!

Inmate Gaylin kept to himself, shifting around in his chair during breaks, hoping none would approach him. Session three brought me face to face with this proud man who is so haunted. Gaylin is trying to be a Christian without making Jesus Lord of his life! Much seed was planted, and I'm expecting others to water with a harvest to come! Pray for him. . .

Once again, God got the glory and we left the seminar blessed, praising His Name!!!
