Shekinah Receives Matching Grant For Prison Seminars
Larry Haag and the Shekinah Board of Directors happily announce the receipt of a $3,000 matching grant for the conduct of its 2004 Prison Seminars program, (two- and three-day bible studies, church services, prayer, and one-on-one counseling sessions at 17 state prisons).
This is the fourth year in which such grants have been made, enabling the ministry to greatly increase both the number of prisons and the number of individual seminars and church services at State prisons. Because we are now able to help certain ministers with their on-road expenses, the pace of seminars has increased substantially these past two years.
The full annual cost of seminars, including reimbursements, bibles, literature and supplies, is somewhat over $9,000, which means this one grant alone puts us one-third of the way to full year 2003 funding.
Our supporters have meet the challenge in the past, and we hope the availability of these matching funds will encourage everyone to share in funding the seminar programs.
Please designate gifts to the matching grant fund. Because our 'church' does not meet as an assembly but once or twice a year, these 'public' appeals serve as our offering plate in bringing God's ministry to nursing homes, jails, prisons, youth centers, halfway houses, and rehab centers throughout Colorado.
